Troubleshooting CheckWriter Issues

Issue

Solution

After installing CheckWriter for the first time, I get "error 3706" Click Here for Jet Service Pack
If you experience this error message download the Jet service pack.  With all software programs, including CheckWriter closed, unzip Jet.Zip and run the application by double clicking on it.  When it is done, restart your computer, and run CheckWriter.
New records entered into CheckWriter are not being saved sequentially, at the end of the database and are out of date order.

Jet Comp can also be used to correct any  corruption issues with 5.xx databases, or bookmark errors.

Some users have reported that they can only enter short bank names, and longer bank names are being cut off.  Download this new check50.zip file into the: C:\Program Files\CheckWriter directory and unzip it. When prompted to replace the existing file, select YES.  This will allow for a much longer bank name.  If you have any issues with this file, you can download a copy of the old check50.rpt file HERE.
Update your version 5.1 to 5.2 for password related issues, or exact amount conflicts if directed by support. Click Here for version 5.2 release 14 [5214] exe file.  Unzip this file and follow the directions in the txt file within. DO THIS ONLY IF DIRECTED BY TECHNICAL SUPPORT.  SOME VERSIONS WILL NOT SUPPORT THIS PATCH AND COULD CAUSE CHECKWRITER TO BECOME CORRUPT.
